What is a social media character counter?
Every network has its own limit for the text of a post: 280 characters on X, 300 on Bluesky, 500 on Threads, 2,200 on Instagram and TikTok, 3,000 on LinkedIn and 63,206 on Facebook. A character counter tells you how much room you have left before you publish.

Frequently asked questions
Why is my count different on X?
X counts a link as 23 characters and some emoji as two. The counter on this page is a simple character count; the composer inside Posteador applies each network’s own rules.
Are the limits the same in every language?
The limits are per post, whatever the language. Some scripts count more than one unit per character on some networks, which the composer takes into account.
